Navy researchers present at the International Sea Turtle Symposium

Posted on February 12, 2019

Danielle Jones and Gwen Lockhart from NAVFAC Atlantic attended the International Sea Turtle Symposium in Charleston, SC, February 2-8 and both presented on our sea turtle tagging and tracking project funded by U.S. Fleet Forces Command.  Danielle's poster covered using acoustic telemetry to look at habitat use and residency, and Gwen's poster looked at characterizing Kemp's ridley and loggerhead habitat partitioning.  The field work for this project is complete and a final report for loggerheads is available.  Analysis for Kemp's ridley data is currently being completed and a final report will be available later this summer.
